Paul Bradshaw - How Do You 'Follow' 2,500 People on Twitter?
"Many Twitter users adopt a "quality not quantity" strategy by only following a certain number of Twitterers. But, by using certain tools and adopting a certain mindset, I think you can achieve both quality and quantity.

"Here's how I follow 2,500 people on Twitter:

"It's a stream, not a publication."

[...]

"The more people you follow (your Twitter "friends"), the more chance you have of stumbling across something interesting. The more diverse your Twitter friends are, the more likely you'll stumble across something useful from outside your immediate circles. For me, those are the most interesting Twitter experiences.

"So stop worrying about what you're missing. Focus on what you do see."

Clean out your space. Read something beautiful.
Make your life good. Invest in what's real. Cook a meal for someone you love. Pause before reacting. Clean out your space. Read something beautiful. Treat yourself to something. Go to a city you've never been to. Learn something new. Don't be lazy. Workout and stick with it. GOOP. Make it great."

-- Gwyneth Paltrow. Intro to her new lifestyle Web site: GOOP. Not much there yet, but I loved this intro.

43 Folders: Time, Attention, and Creative Work | 43 Folders
Merlin Mann takes back 43folders.com.

But, if you want a "site about GTD," "a blog about index cards," or a wide-mouthed sluice of recycled links to lists of geegaws that will keep you momentarily distracted from how sad you are, then you're wasting both of our time here. So, go. You're stinking up the joint.

This is now a site for people who want to finish things that they care about — but who still occasionally need help, inspiration, and the courage to push all the bullshit off their work table. This is about clearing that space every day, and then using it to do cool stuff that makes you proud.

"We become what we think about." Earl Nightingale
I grew up listening to short, inspirational spots on KCBS narrated by Earl Nightingale.

What a voice that man had.

Through some weird click to click to link to click, I stumbled across a free audio of Earl Nightingale's classic The Strangest Secret today over at the Mark Victor Hansen site with added commentary by MVH, but ... well, I stopped the audio to write down a thought and backtrack and had to start ALL OVER AGAIN!.

and again...
and again...

Yeeks. Can't deal with that.

Go over to YouTube and find Earl Nightingale's The Strangest Secret, unfiltered and uncommented.

part 2
part 3

"We become what we think about." -- Earl Nightingale
"A man is what he thinks about all day long." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

If you want Mark Victor Hansen (he of CHICKEN SOUP fame) and his commentary and Earl Nightingale's classic, here 'tis.

Bertold Brecht:
Everything changes. You can make
A fresh start with your final breath.
But what has happened has happened. And the water
You once poured into the wine cannot be
Drained off again.
